Store Tiers

Shit-tier: The stores that are a common beginner's trap, and should be avoided. Often have poor build quality, fit, and just look plain bad.

Mall-tier/Fast Fashion: Good for basics; t-shirts, underwear, socks, etc. Recommended for poorfags. Buy sparsely and do NOT build a large wardrobe with these stores.

Low-tier: Bit more pricey, but at this stage odds are you'll be dressed much better than people around you. Build quality is a cut above mall tier. Tumblr-core usually fits around here.

Medium-tier: Some entry level designer pieces, and at this point the clothes are very "nice". Quality menswear/streetwear often fits in this category. Fit and build quality are high.

High-tier: High fashion, designer pieces. Top tier menswear as well as some light gothninja pieces can be found here.

Artisanal-tier: Hand-made with skill that approaches that of an artist. This has nothing to do with design and everything to do with production methods. A boring design done fully by hand (example: a full bespoke two button suit) is 'artisianal'. Many designers source their clothing from artisans, but not all designer clothing is 'artisianal'.

Note: Some US/UK stores will ship to Australia, so check them out too.

Apartment cMedium Mostly leans towards the jap-streetwear look but also has some brands that aren't as commonly found. http://aptmnt.myshopify.com/
Asos eMall/Fast fashion For the home brand quality can be variable, although as the price entails it usually isn't the best. The site also offers items from higher-tier brands. Frequent sales. http://www.asos.com/
Black Milk eMall/Fast fashion For all your galaxy leggings needs! http://blackmilkclothing.com
Capsule cMedium Sells a pretty solid range of streetwear, quality brands. http://www.capsulestore.com.au/
Connor Shit Similar to YD except worse, tries to do menswear, but often poorly fitted and terrible build quality. Every man and his dog shops there though, avoid at all costs. http://www.connor.com.au/
Cotton On Shit Dirt cheap basics (<$10); great sales. It can be hard to find good fits here, but the upside is that you won't have wasted a lot of money if you decide you don't like something. http://www.cottonon.com.au/
Country Road eMall/Fast fashion Very similar to Industrie, some nice "dressy" clothing. Definitely higher end of Mall Tier http://www.countryroad.com.au/

Fallow bHigh Online store, stocks some dark stuff like Silent Damir Doma and Obscur, as well as Australian brands like Song for the Mute. http://www.fallow.com.au/
FAT cMedium Some solid streetwear pieces, nice button ups as well. http://www.fatstores.com.au/
Foot-Locker Shit Good if you need shoes for sports, but for things like air jordans/adidas originals you'll find much better prices elsewhere. http://www.footlocker.com.au/?
For-Tomorrow bHigh Great resource for Australian brands, from Andrew McDomble Shoemaker to Song for the Mute. Even has some BBS on the way http://www.f-t.com.au
General Pants Co. eMall/Fast fashion A mixed bag of trendy/streetwear, you will have to dig a bit to find something good. http://www.generalpants.com.au/
Glue eMall/Fast fashion Not as good as General Pants, but if you dig you can find some cool streetwear gear. Very "mainstream" if you will. http://www.gluestore.com.au/?
HypeDC eMall/Fast fashion Not bad for sneakers, they sell limited run shoes that may be hard to find elsewhere. Stock Vans, Supra, Adidas, etc. Can be a bit pricey. http://www.hypedc.com/
Surfstitch eMall/Fast fashion Like ASOS but a bit better, quality comes down to what brand you buy. Look out for sales. http://www.surfstitch.com/
The Iconic dLow Pretty huge range with decent quality, ships around the country. http://www.theiconic.com.au/
Incu cMedium Nice range, stocks quality denim as well as some more exclusive brands. Well above mall-tier. http://www.incuclothing.com/
Industrie eMall/Fast fashion Pretty good basics/chinos/knits, probably the best mall tier store that's near you. Recommend shopping at the outlet Industrie stores as the prices are approximately 2/3 of the flagship stores. http://industrie.com.au/
J.Crew eMall/Fast fashion Decent prices and stock. A nice range of shoes. Shipping is usually free. Note : Is a US store that charges 50% or more markups if you are on the AU site, generally not worth buying after the AU specific markup. http://www.jcrew.com.au/
JayJays Shit Your one stop shop for all your le funny meme shirts. If you shop here, you should put a cable tie around your neck and pull tight. Exceptionally poor production quality; you're lucky for a tee to last a season. http://www.jayjays.com.au/
Kmart Shit Only for underwear/socks. http://www.kmart.com.au/
Kaeho (CLOSED) dLow Some nice stuff at decent prices. Often stocks brands that are usually hard to find. Decent sales and good return policies. http://kaeho.com.au/

Neuw cMedium Decent denim selection. http://shop.neuwdenim.com/Default.aspx

Nique cMedium Good quality streetwear clothing. http://www.nique.com.au/Default.aspx?page=StoreHome
Oxford eMall/Fast fashion Some decent things in here. Unfortunately, the store focuses more on business wear now rather then smart casual. Chinos are of good quality and some decent knits to be found as well. Every now and then there is a 50% off everything sale that is definitely worth a look. http://www.oxfordshop.com.au/
Roger David/RDX eMall/Fast fashion Although loved by some, the truth is, Roger David is overpriced for what they offer. Selling poorly constructed outerwear and with a limited range, you are better off looking in Industrie. RD may have some alright basics every now and then such as chinos and t-shirts and their knits may be decent, but the rest is RDX crap that is not worth your money. http://www.rogerdavid.com.au/
Salvos/Vinnies Uncategorized Thrift shopping is pretty common in Australia, great for the tumblrcore look. Alter clothing to fit. N/A
Saxony cMedium Limited range, avant-garde style, decent quality. http://www.saxony.com.au/
Someday Store cMedium Decent range, mid to high quality streetwear such as Norse Projects, Visvim, APC, Diemme ect. http://www.someday-store.com/
Supply Store cMedium Plenty of streetwear, can be very pricey though. http://www.supplystore.com.au/

Zanerobe eMall/Fast fashion Average quality. Basic. http://www.zanerobe.com/
Ascolour dLow Arguably the best source for basics in Australia, be sure to hit up "the deal". http://ascolour.com.au/

Cities

This section is for the common styles found in major cities or regions, also city specific boutiques that don't have an online store, or a weak one. Feel free to include suburbs within the cities.

Sydney To many fucking Arabs who clog up the fashion scene with shit. In desperate need of a good cleansing.

Perth Cashed up bogans. Expect chinos, surfing and skate brand hoodies and tees, as well as General Pants-core paired with Vans or sneakers.

Melbourne To other Aussies, Melbourne is known for the way we pronounce the word helicopter, the Eureka tower and an apparently hipster dress sense. Melbourne is one of the only cities in Australia that can actually be called a city, and as such fashion is varied, with menswear, streetwear and business casual all being popular.

Brisbane Described as a large country town, majority of its population dress accordingly. Owner of the menswear boutique, Apartment, has noted that a huge majority of the stores customers are asian, take that as you will. Hot all the time.

Gold Coast Tourists everywhere in Surfers/Broadbeach and other denser areas, mostly Asian ones. The stock local dress code is a low armhole singlet showing off too much chest and side torso, shorts and thongs.

Newcastle For the most part, young uni students here lean towards the tumblrcore or at least somewhat alternative spectrum of fashion. On campus you'll see the stock standard tan or burgundy chinos, vans, a black/white shirt, and a five panel or snapback. Streetwear isn't seen too much, and everybody else dress very bogan.
